The departmental units listed below are under the supervision of:

Associate Controller and Director of Accounting

Accounting / Financial Reporting

  • Maintenance of the Chart of Accounts of the General Ledger
  • Financial accountability and compliance
  • Annual, quarterly, and other financial reports

Cost Analysis

  • Facilities and Administrative rate development (F&A)
  • Blended fringe benefit rates
  • Service Center rates

Project Accounting

  • Accounting and reporting for all capital projects at the Storrs and Regional Campuses and for UCONN 2000 funded projects at the UCONN Health Center. Capital projects include new construction, renovations, and deferred maintenance
  • Projects funded by UCONN 2000, other State bonds, departmental funding and outside funding, including donations, grants and federal funding
  • Works closely with Planning Architectural Engineering Services, Capital Projetcs and Contract Administration, Academic Renovations, and Facilities Operations as well as University Departments

Inventory Control / Capitalization

  • Tagging and conducting annual physical inventory of equipment
  • Capitalization and tracking of all fixed assets including lands, buildings, nonstructual or infrastructure, construction-in-progress

Bond / Debt Accounting

  • Recording liabilities and costs of issuance
  • Making debt payments, funding payments and debt reserves
  • Tracking internal loans at the University
